What is alternating current (AC)?

common problems 6910

Alternating current (AC) is a type of electric current whose polarity reverses periodically and whose amplitude varies continuously over time. AC power is often used in businesses and homes because it is cheaper and more efficient to generate and transmit than direct current (DC) power. During transmission, a transformer can reduce power losses by increasing or decreasing the voltage of the AC line.

Alternating current (AC) is a form of household electricity - it is used when consumers plug household appliances such as televisions and other devices into wall outlets. AC power can be converted to direct current for use in almost any electronic device.

  • What is the difference between an arbitrary waveform generator and a function generator?

    784

The Function Generator provides a preset list of waveforms or code patterns that it can generate. In a function generator, the user can change waveform parameters such as frequency, amplitude, and offset, as well as add simple distortion. Arbitrary waveform generators are more complex and can emulate real-world signals. Arbitrary waveform generators utilize pre-stored digital data to generate these waveforms,...

What does the frequency of electricity mean? Here are the basics of frequency, regionality, and measurement Since electricity and voltage are invisible things, many people will think they are elusive. But in fact, they are only invisible, and it is not difficult to understand them. Below, we will introduce the frequency basis of electricity and voltage in an easy-to-understand way, regional differences in frequency, and how...

Its advantages include: Ultra-low jitterTrueform function/arbitrary waveform generators have jitter as low as 1 ps and excellent edge stability. You can even use them as system clocks for timing and triggering other instruments. Thanks to better jitter performance, you can locate edges more accurately, which helps reduce timing errors in circuit design. Ultra-low...
