The GDM-8261A is a 6 1/2-digit digital multimeter that supports dual-display measurements, 11 measurement functions and 10 arithmetic functions, and high accuracy (35 ppm DC voltage accuracy), making it suitable for parameter measurements in a wide range of applications.

The GDM-8261A features a scan card design that provides 16 V-Ch and 2 I-Ch, allowing multi-point measurements to be made on one or more devices, with all operations accomplished by keystrokes only. With multi-point measurement capability, the GDM-8261A can be viewed as a semi-automatic ATE system for increasing the amount of production testing, or as a data logger for long-term monitoring or characterization. Its PC software and DMM-Viewer support multi-channel panel setup and scan card data logging. In addition, the LabVIEW driver helps users create their own virtual instruments on the PC screen, greatly simplifying programming. For ATE system measurement or remote control applications, the GDM-8261A comes standard with USB and RS-232C interfaces, with optional GPIB or LAN interfaces.

The GDM-8261A is a 6 1/2-digit digital multimeter with very high DC voltage accuracy (35 ppm), dual-display measurements, 11 basic measurements and 10 advanced measurements. Supporting an external scan card, it can be switched between multiple measurement points, enabling effective short/long-term monitoring or characterization recording. For the system's own measurement or testing needs, the GDM-8261A can be used with RS-232C and the USB interface, which is becoming the mainstream with its cost-effectiveness, high-speed data acquisition, and ease of operation.

A. Operating platforms

All of the GDM-8261A's basic measurement functions fully satisfy engineers' needs for designing, developing and testing electronic circuits or products, including voltage, current, resistance, diode, and short-circuit tests, as well as frequency and temperature measurements. In addition, the GDM-8261A features 10 advanced measurement functions (dBm, dB, comparison functions and other math operations) so you don't have to worry about special measurement requirements.

B. Dual display measurement

Unlike other "dual-display" digital multimeters, the GDM-8261A's second display shows not only range information but also measurement values. This means that two attributes of the input signal can be displayed on the screen at the same time: the primary measurement and the secondary measurement item, making it suitable for almost any combination of measurements. The dual-display measurement function saves valuable time by avoiding multiple measurements at the same test point.

C. High measurement resolution & sampling rate

The GDM-8261A's very high resolution: 0.1 μV voltage resolution, 100 pA DC current resolution, 1 nA AC current resolution, and 100 μΩ resistance resolution, is fully capable of meeting the user's requirements for accuracy. In addition, transmission speeds of 30 times/sec (6 1/2 bits) and 2,400 times/sec (4 1/2 bits) make the GDM-8261 more than adequate for the measurement requirements of today's market.

D. 2/4-wire resistance measurement

The GDM-8261A offers two methods of resistance measurement: 2-wire measurement and 4-wire measurement. 2-wire measurement is a common and simple connection method, especially suitable for 100Ω to 10kΩ resistors. 4-wire measurement is suitable for small resistance measurements (less than 100Ω), and automatically compensates for the test lead resistance and contact resistance during measurement.

E. Common Interface & Transmission Speed

To meet the application requirements of your system, the GDM-8261A provides a universal USB interface and a standard RS-232C interface. Connecting the USB interface can transfer information in ASCII format at speeds of up to 2,400 times/sec. A GPIB or LAN card is available as an optional accessory and can also be adapted to your existing system.

F. Multi-point measurement scanning card

The optional scanning card features a plug-in design with a complete set of multipoint measurement solutions that simplify multipoint measurement and data processing. This scanning method allows users to effectively measure multiple channels connected to the GDM-8261A.
