Product Overview: Fluke 710 Valve Tester

Smart Control Valve Testing Now Easier Than Ever

The Fluke 710 Valve Tester is designed to make it fast and easy to test HART smart control valves. The 710 has a built-in test procedure and an intuitive user interface that makes it fast and easy to test valves, while the Valve Test Quick Check results provide at-a-glance diagnostics that help you make maintenance decisions faster than ever before. The Valve Condition Quick Check results let you know whether a valve is in good, critical or poor operating condition, so you can quickly decide whether additional maintenance is required.

Valve tester equipped with valve test and HART communication functions

With the 710 Valve Tester's built-in HART communication capability, the user can output a 4-20 mA signal to move the smart control valve while also parsing the valve's HART feedback to determine if the valve has moved to the desired position. In addition to the position information, the measured pressure of the valve's internal I/P (for moving the valve) output can be determined via the HART communication protocol.

The 710 has a built-in test process that automatically adds and changes mA signals, as well as monitors HART position and pressure feedback from the control valve, providing a full understanding of the overall condition of the valve at the push of a button.

Pre-configured valve tests, at-a-glance diagnostic results

710 The built-in valve test program includes:

  • Manual test; manually change mA signal and view HART position and pressure parameter information
  • Full-range ramp characteristics for mA signals (4-20-4 mA) while recording the 0-100-0% position, or the pressure applied to move the valve from 0-100-0%
  • Steps the mA signal from the input to the valve and evaluates the valve's response to changes in the mA input
  • Velocity test determines how fast a valve opens or closes
  • Crash and Partial Stroke testing helps to test valves over a portion of their range for testing in actual working conditions

ValveTrack™ software supports further analysis and trend forecasting

Valve test data can be recorded and saved to the 710's memory or uploaded to the included ValveTrack™ analysis software.

This is possible with ValveTrack™ software:

  • Uploading, printing and plotting of recorded valve test data (collected in the field)
  • Compare previously uploaded test data with recent test data
  • Viewing Valve Test History Data via HART Tag IDs
  • Export valve test data to CSV for additional analysis in Microsoft Excel® .

Save time and solve problems

In addition, the 710 has the following features:

  • Record HART data in the field.710 Once the data is recorded in the field, the ValveTrack™ software uploads the HART configuration of up to 20 HART devices in your plant and can output the data in (.csv) or (.txt) format.
  • The mA loop measurements and HART data in the data log can come from a specific transmitter for troubleshooting and loop adjustment. The data log has a selectable acquisition interval of 1 to 60 seconds and can record 4910 records or 99 individual sessions. Each record contains mA measurements and all four process parameters.
