PEL-2000A programmable DC electronic load, this electronic load can work in constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance mode, but also can simulate a variety of dynamic load conditions, through the sequence function of the load voltage, current, load up and down slope, current alignment, duration and other parameters to edit the load waveforms, and at the same time to provide an external waveform signal control as well as V & I monitoring functions, test parameters and status can be stored up to 120 groups. Up to 120 groups of test parameters and statuses can be stored, and the system can be called out at any time from the internal storage unit EEPROM for use according to the demand of automatic testing.

PEL-2000A series contains two main control including frame PEL-2002A (can accommodate dual module) and PEL-2004 (can accommodate four modules), using modular design, to assist users to retain the future may be applied to the expansion of higher power requirements, currently provides four load modules are: PEL-2020A (200W dual-channel load module 100W * 2); PEL-2030A (280W dual-channel load module 30W + 250W); PEL-2040A (350W single-channel load module); PEL-2041 (350W single-channel load module); PEL-2040A (350W single-channel load module) PEL-2030A (280W dual-channel load module 30W + 250W); PEL-2040A (350W single-channel load module); PEL-2041 (350W single-channel load module)], to PEL-2004A to represent the maximum of 8 channels can be synchronized to use, the power range of 200W~350W, the current range of 0~70A, the voltage range of 1~500V, the user can use a maximum of 8 channels. Voltage range 1~500V, users can choose the load module and control module according to the actual needs of the combination or self-assembly load system, can be synchronized with the implementation of multiple electronic load module pulling applications, while each module using isolation and ground floating way, to avoid short circuit circuit circuit; Nowadays, the green energy industry is booming, the PEL-2000A series to meet the needs of a variety of consumer electronics and automotive energy equipment testing. The PEL-2000A series meets the needs of various consumer electronics and automotive energy equipment testing. Through the external flat cable parallel control function, up to five host frames can be controlled simultaneously, and the overall total power usage reaches 7kVA.

PEL-2000A series is equipped with RS232, USB, LAN (optional), GPIB (optional) interface, GO/NG interface, and also equipped with drivers and test software examples for LabView, VB, C, C++, etc. PEL-2000A series is mainly applied to the performance testing of AC/DC power supply, DC/DC power module, charger and power supply electronic components with multi-channel or single channel output. Each channel can be individually set up for fast sequences, with up to 120 points per channel, delay times, etc., and a minimum of 100us per step, allowing simultaneous sequence control of multiple channels in the same control mode and simulation of switched-mode power supply loading behavior, which is one of the powerful features of the PEL-2000A series, and which can be applied to the simulation of multi-channel output power supplies. This is one of the strong features of the PEL-2000A series that can be applied to the simulation of multi-channel output power supplies. In dynamic mode, the load current or pulsed load resistor is conditioned to set speeds of up to 25us per step for its two preset quasi-points, which is often used as a standard test program to verify the response to rapid changes in load.

The figure above right shows an example of a single-channel switching power supply simulating a rapid change in load. Using a digital oscilloscope with current waveforms captured using a current probe, the PEL-2000A Programmable DC Electronic Load's sequence programming feature allows for product performance testing of switching power supplies.

C.C. (Constant Current Mode of Operation)

In constant current mode, the load unit draws in current according to the set value, and the current remains constant no matter how high the voltage is. there are two levels in CC mode: HI and LOW, the resolution of LOW is higher than that of HIGH, which is used for precision testing, and when the current is out of the range of the LOW level, it is necessary to switch the profile to the HIGH level. the power that can be withstood in the LOW range is the maximum rated power of this model. the CC mode contains two main modes, static and dynamic, the static mode is used for stable testing, and the dynamic mode is used for testing instantaneous loads. PEL-2000A series programmable DC electronic loads, the power that can be withstood in the low range is the maximum rated power of the model. CC mode contains two main modes, static and dynamic, the static mode is used for stable testing, the dynamic mode is used for testing instantaneous loads, and the Go / No Go function can also be used in both the dynamic and static modes.

C.V. (Constant Voltage Mode of Operation)

In Constant Voltage Mode, the load cell keeps the voltage constant and draws current. In Constant Voltage Mode, the Single Channel Load can be set to two values (A & B) as well as a limiting current value, and can be switched to either A or B test conditions via the A/B button on the front panel of the Load Module. Dual-channel loads can only be set to one condition (A value), and in CV mode the response time can be set to fast or slow.

C.V.+C.C. ( Constant Voltage + Constant Current Mode )

In Constant Voltage mode, a current limit can be set, and CV+CC mode can be entered. When the voltage input is greater than the A value and the input current is lower than the limit voltage, the channel operates in CV mode, when the current is greater than the limit, the channel will enter CC mode.

C.R. (Constant Resistance Mode)

Constant Resistance mode allows the load cell to absorb a linearly proportional amount of current and voltage to match the set resistance value. Single Channel. The single channel has two values, two steps and a rising and falling slew rate. Constant Resistance supports dynamic and static loads like CC mode, and like other loads, CR mode supports GO/NG function.

C. PARALLEL DYNAMIC LOADING

Each channel of the PEL-2000A master can be used in parallel and operated in both dynamic and static modes. In Dynamic mode, the load can be set to two levels with a minimum delay of 0.025 ms. When channels are used in parallel, dynamic tests must be synchronized. Dynamic high power loads can be efficiently implemented in parallel without the need for a high power loader.

PEL-2000A series can be connected to multiple electronic loads via load control interfaces with standard MIL20-pin connectors, allowing up to four secondary control frames to be connected in parallel with the first main frame.

In Programming Sequence Mode, there are 12 groups of programming sequences, 10 sequences in each group of programs, repeatable tests can be performed by editing the parameters, and after the run is completed, all the test results including GO/NG judgments will be displayed on the window.

F. PROTECTION MODES

The PEL-2000A series includes a variety of protection modes: overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), overpower protection (OPP), reverse polarity protection (RVP), and undervoltage protection (UVP). All protection modes can effectively protect the load and the body to be measured. When the protection setting is triggered, a buzzer will sound an alarm and the load will sound an alarm to stop the load from being sucked in. Voltage and current, when the load is used in CV and CR mode, over current protection must be set to limit the load's absorption current, it is recommended to set the current limit to prevent the load from burning out. Over voltage protection is used to limit the load's suction voltage. When the voltage limit is set, the load will effectively limit the suction voltage to protect the load. Reverse polarity protection can effectively prevent damage to the instrument caused by reverse connection, and by setting the low voltage range, it can effectively prevent damage to the body to be measured due to low voltage.

G. Von VOLTAGE SETTINGS

Von Voltage refers to the voltage at which the load starts to draw current, and there are two operation modes for Von Voltage: Von Latched ON and Von Latched OFF. When Von Latched is on, the load starts to draw current when the voltage value reaches Von Voltage, and continues to draw current when the voltage value is lower than Von Voltage; Von Latched is off, the load starts to draw current when the voltage value reaches Von Voltage, but stops to draw current when the voltage value is lower than Von Voltage. As shown in the figure: when Von Latched is set to Off, if the Von-Voltage limit has been exceeded, the load module will start to draw current until the output voltage drops below the Von-Voltage limit, then it will stop drawing current.

H. EXTERNAL CHANNEL CONTROL

Through the 6-pin slots corresponding to the channels on the rear panel, the input status of each channel can be monitored, including input voltage, input current, load On/Off, and CC and CV mode settings. The Voltage Monitoring Output (VMON) and Current Monitoring Output (IMON) output the load input voltage and load input current as a percentage of the full scale, e.g. 0V = 0% full scale input voltage, 10V = 100% full scale input voltage. Voltage monitoring is done through 1 & 3 Current monitoring is done through 1 & 2. The following describes the pinouts for the voltage and current monitoring outputs.

In order to start the load, the Load on (pin5) and GND (pin1) terminals need to pass a low voltage (0~1V), likewise, if a higher voltage (4-5V) is required; the Load on input voltage must be TTL.
