The PH-1503 is a high speed transient response DC source and high performance DC power supply that provides peak current testing for digital wireless communication products. The excellent voltage transient response characteristics prevent test interruptions due to low voltage falling edge triggering.
The PH-1503 is compatible with many communication standards including: GSM, CDMA, TDMA, DECT and others.
The PPH-1503 programmable high precision DC power supply has an additional DVM (Digital Voltmeter) at each of the front and rear panel input ports. It has a limited measurement range and is restricted to low DC voltage measurements. It can be used to monitor the voltage at the test point, as well as the voltage at the test fixture.The DVM can be programmed either from the instrument's front panel or remotely using SCPI programming commands. The dual range function allows flexible and efficient setting of voltage and current within the rated power range.The PH-1503 provides a built-in advanced measurement system that accurately measures the battery current consumption of the device in different states such as talk mode, active mode, standby mode, and power off/sleep mode. Measurements taken in these modes are critical to ensure proper device operation. For functional testing during production, the PH-1503 provides power to replace the main battery on the device.
When the output exceeds the rated voltage and current, the PPH-150 Programmable High Precision DC Power Supply can perform in either CV or CC mode. Although the DC power supply can operate in both modes, it is designed as a constant voltage source. When the instrument is turned on in constant voltage mode, the voltage can only rise to the set value. The remote sensing bandwidth and conversion rate of a standard DC power supply is sufficient to compensate for the voltage drop across the load leads and is slow to a moderate level of load variation. Standard DC power supplies operating in remote sense mode present a challenge for the high pulse currents of today's digital voxel phones. Their bandwidth and conversion rates are not sufficient to cope with these devices with 0.05 to 2A/us conversion rates. If a large voltage transient occurs at the load side, conventional DC power supplies cannot keep up with the rate of change of the load.
When the test circuit is an active circuit, the PH-1503 has a current absorption function. The voltage embodied in the test circuit is greater than the power supply output voltage and will automatically draw external current. When this function is in normal operation, it is equivalent to a constant voltage load rather than a constant current load. The current loss at the output of the power supply flows from the positive terminal to the negative terminal. The power supply cannot control the amount of current absorbed.
The PH-1503 has a Relay control that when turned on, it is synchronized with the current limit of the power supply. The external relay control is divided into two different types, Lim Relay and Trip Relay. Lim Relay is used for constant current mode combination (CC mode), when the current reaches its set value, the Relay control signal will go high, when the current is lower than the set value, the Relay control signal will go back to low level. Trip Relay is used for constant current mode combination (CC mode), when the current reaches its set value, the Relay control signal will become high and the power supply will turn off the output, when the output is turned on and the current is still less than the set value, the Relay control signal will return to low level.
