The energy recovery AC load function consists of various modes such as CC rectifier mode, CP rectifier mode, CR mode, CC phase lead/lag mode and CP phase lead/lag mode.
Rectifier mode is mainly used to simulate non-linear rectified load testing, similar to the Chroma 63800 series AC loads operating characteristics with voltages and currents operating in the first and third quadrant regions. Rectifier mode supports CC and CP functions, where current, power and CF are parameterized.

The phase angle setting range is from 90 degrees to -90 degrees to match the corresponding voltage and current conditions under inductive and capacitive loads simulated in phase ahead/lagging mode. The current waveform of 61800's energy recovery AC load function is sinusoidal in phase ahead/lagging mode (the current, PF, and phase angle are parameterized), and 61800 will become a current source when the phase angle is set from 90.1 degrees to 180 degrees (-90 degrees to -180 degrees). When the phase angle is set at 90.1 degrees to 180 degrees (-90 degrees to 180 degrees), the 61800 becomes a current source. 61800's energy recovery AC load function is mainly used for EVSE charging stations, hybrid inverters, PCS, UPS, and micro-grid related test applications.
