general load

The 63800R series offers a full range of Constant Current CC, Constant Power CP, and Constant Resistance CR modes, which can be used to simulate a wide range of AC load characteristics. In Constant Current CC and Constant Power CP modes, the Power Factor (PF) or Peak Factor (CF) of the pull load can be set, where PF is defined by Lead/Lag to define the voltage ahead/behind the current, and PF and CF can be programmed at the same time through the Priority setting. Under the fixed resistance mode, the PF value is constant at 1, which can simulate the linear impedance to quickly respond to the voltage source change of the object to be tested, such as voltage interruption transient pull test.

Inductive and capacitive loads

In reality, many power equipment due to the use of passive components and inductive or capacitive, the characteristics of the pull load current will be ahead or behind the voltage, so the Chroma 63800R series can be specific CC Lead / Lag and CS Lead / Lag modes, in the fixed-current or fixed-visible power test conditions, adjust the current and voltage phase difference (Deg) to simulate the characteristics of various types of inductive or capacitive loads. Semi-Circular Pull Load Function

Chroma 63800R series energy recovery AC electronic loads are equipped with semi-circumferential pulling function in CC Rectified mode. Under the condition that voltage and current are sinusoidal, it provides positive half-circle, negative half-circle and half-circle pulling to simulate SCR/TRIAC switching characteristics such as 90 degree Leading Edge, Trailing edge, and so on. Users can pull this special current waveform to simulate thermostat/dimmer household appliances, protection switches, etc., and test the output stability of the voltage source by using SCR/TRIAC components related to the load characteristics of the test object.

Stand-By standby input function

The 63800R series energy recovery AC electronic load realizes the new Stand-By function through advanced control algorithms and precise and rapid detection circuits. In case of sudden circuit opening or instantaneous interruption of voltage source, it can quickly switch to standby state by detecting the disappearance of the voltage of the object to be tested to avoid the open circuit of the current source. Without this feature, the switching load will not be able to react to the voltage change in time and generate reverse high voltage, thus interrupting the test process by skipping the voltage protection. In addition, the Chroma 63800R series also supports Load On standby before voltage source startup, and switches to Pull On state as soon as the voltage source is started, realizing fast standby startup testing. Users only need to complete the Load On setting and Load On to interrupt the voltage source during the test process. This feature makes the Chroma 63800R series suitable for AC EVSE dynamic Load On, OCP/OPP Load On, and swipe charging tests, as well as standby power on and standby power switching tests for inverters and uninterruptible power supplies.
